Now Offering Outpatient Dental Procedures

We are thrilled to announce that First State Urgent Vet now offers outpatient advanced dental procedures, including cleanings, extractions, dental radiographs, and more, performed by Dr. Stephanie DeMarco and her team at Delaware Veterinary Dental Practice (DVDP). Dr. Demarco brings years of advanced training and expertise, ensuring that your pet receives the highest standard of dental care right here at our faciity. She will collaborate closely with you and our team to guide you through the entire process, from preparation to recovery.

How It Works:

• Initial Assessment: This can be arranged through a direct referral to Dr. Demarco by your regular veterinarian, or our team at First State Urgent Vet can perform a thorough physical exam and any necessary diagnostics to determine if your pet would benefit from a dental cleaning. Additionally, we ensure there are no pre-existing health issues that could complicate anesthesia or surgery.
  
  

• Scheduling: A representative from DVDP will reach out to you with an estimate and will schedule your pet’s dental appointment. An estimate will be provided by Dr. DeMarco and her Delaware Veterinary Dental team.
  
  

• Day Of Surgery: Your pet will arrive at one of our First State Urgent Vet locations on the scheduled appointment day and stay with us under the attentive care of Dr. DeMarco, our veterinarians, and support staff. This ensures a familiar and comfortable environment for both you and your pet. Dr. DeMarco will stay in close contact with you via phone or text, based on your preference. After the procedure, she will review discharge instructions and answer any questions to ensure you’re comfortable with the next steps. Most pets are discharged between 3:00 and 6:00 PM. Both our team and Dr. DeMarco’s will follow up in the following days to ensure your pet is recovering smoothly.
